Early Life and Education
IK was born in Lagos, Nigeria. His mother, Felicia Oviawe, was a homemaker. His father, Samuel Oviawe, was a Brigadier General. IK is the middle child of five children.
He started performing on stage at a young age. By age 7, he was acting in plays and singing in the choir. When he was 15, he even made a pretend radio show with his family.
IK went to the University of Lagos. There, he got his first TV experience on a show called Campus Circuit Television. This show was broadcast on Africa Independent Television. After that, he focused on his studies and earned a degree in Economics.
Starting His Career
After graduating from King's College, Lagos and the University of Lagos in 2001, IK started working at Rhythm 93.7 FM. He became known as "The Wild Child" because of his funny and unexpected personality.
All Nigerian graduates must complete a one-year service called the National Youth Service Corps. So, IK had to leave the radio station for a while. He also worked at an advertising company. In 2005, he returned to Rhythm 93.7 FM and continued to be "The Wild Child."

Temptation Nigeria
IK Osakioduwa co-hosted a show called Temptation Nigeria with Kemi Adetiba. This show featured people from all over Nigeria. Their knowledge about their country was key to winning the game.
Studio 53
IK was a field presenter for M-Net's Studio 53. This TV show explored different cultures, historical places, music, art, and fashion across Africa. It also featured famous people from the continent.
Big Brother Africa
IK began hosting the reality show Big Brother Africa in September 2009. He took over from Kabelo Ngakane. The show became very successful, making IK famous across Africa.

In December 2012, IK hosted the Lagos Countdown Show. This event was similar to the famous New Year's Eve countdowns in places like Times Square in New York. It was the first show of its kind in Nigeria. He hosted it with Ariyike Akinbobola and Quest.
IK's Family Life
IKponmwosa and Olohije Osakioduwa got married on October 3, 2008. Their church wedding was in Lagos. They had been friends for four years and dated for one year before getting married. IK once said that Olohije was the only friend who truly understood him. The couple has two children, Osahar and Micah.
In May 2012, IK's mother, Felicia Oviawe, passed away from cancer.
