IPhone 7 facts for kids
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are types of smartphones made by Apple. They were first sold on September 16, 2016. These phones came after the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus came in several cool colors. These included matte black, gold, silver, and rose gold. There was also a shiny new jet black color. Later, a red version was released in March 2017. This red phone helped support Apple's fight against AIDS.
Like older iPhones, the iPhone 7 has a screen that is 4.7 inches (11.94 cm) big. The larger iPhone 7 Plus has a screen that is 5.5 inches (13.97 cm).
Cool New Features
One big change was the camera. The iPhone 7 has a larger, round camera lens. The iPhone 7 Plus has two camera lenses on its back. This helps it take even better photos.
Both phones are also water-resistant. This means they can handle splashes or a quick dip in water. They use Apple's special Lightning connector. This port is used for charging the phone and connecting it to a computer.
The Home Button
The Home button on these iPhones is also new. It doesn't actually click down anymore. Instead, it senses how much pressure you use. This lets you do things like go to the Home screen or use Touch ID to unlock your phone.
No Headphone Jack
The iPhone 7 also removed the traditional headphone jack. This means you can't plug in regular headphones directly. Instead, you need to use wireless headphones or an adapter. This adapter plugs into the Lightning port.
