Ian Noel Carter (born September 20, 1967) is a Canadian former soccer player. He played professionally for many clubs and also represented his country on the international stage.

Early Life
Ian Carter was born in Birmingham, England. He later moved to Canada and grew up in the city of Mississauga.
Playing for Clubs
Ian Carter started his professional soccer career in 1987 with a team called Toronto Italia. He played for many different clubs during his career. Some of these teams include Winnipeg Fury, Toronto Blizzard, Peterborough United, and Montreal Impact. He also played for Dover Athletic, Toronto Lynx, and Harrisburg City Islanders.
In 1998, Ian joined a new team, the Toronto Olympians, in the Canadian Professional Soccer League. That year, his team had an amazing season. They went undefeated, meaning they didn't lose a single game! They also won the regular season championship and the Open Canada Cup. The Olympians made it to the playoff finals but lost in a penalty shootout.
Playing for Canada
Ian Carter also played for Canada's national soccer teams. He was part of the Canadian youth team that played in the 1987 FIFA World Youth Championship in Chile. He also represented Canada at the 1987 Pan American Games.
He played 8 games for the Canadian senior team.
