Jan-Håkan Haugland, better known as Ian Haugland, is a talented drummer famous for playing in the Swedish rock band Europe. He was born in Storslett, Norway, on August 13, 1964. When he was just eight months old, his family moved to Märsta, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden.

Ian joined the band Europe in the summer of 1984, taking over from their previous drummer, Tony Reno. Before becoming a part of Europe, Ian had already played with several other bands. These included a group called Trilogy and guitarist Yngwie J. Malmsteen's band, Rising Force.

Europe became a world-famous band, but they decided to take a break in 1992. During this time, Ian Haugland stayed busy. He recorded music and went on tour with many other artists and bands. Some of these included Brazen Abbot, Clockwise, and Last Autumn's Dream. He also worked with his bandmate from Europe, John Norum, and the famous singer Glenn Hughes, who was once in the bands Black Sabbath and Deep Purple.

In 1998, Ian recorded a cover version of the Black Sabbath song "Changes". This was for a tribute album dedicated to the singer Ozzy Osbourne.

When he is not touring with Europe or recording in the studio, Ian has another cool job. He works as a radio host for the station 106.7 FM Rockklassiker in Stockholm. He also sometimes plays drums for other musicians in the studio.
