Jan-Håkan "Ian" Haugland was born on August 13, 1964. He is a talented Norwegian-Swedish drummer. He is best known for being a member of the famous Swedish rock band Europe.
When Ian was just eight months old, his family moved to a town called Märsta in Stockholm, Sweden. He joined the band Europe in the summer of 1984. He took the place of their previous drummer, Tony Reno. Before joining Europe, Ian played drums in several other bands. These included Trilogy and Yngwie J. Malmsteen's band Rising Force.
After Europe took a break in 1992, Ian Haugland continued to make music. He recorded and toured with many different bands and artists. Some of these included Brazen Abbot, Clockwise, and Last Autumn's Dream. He also worked with his bandmate John Norum from Europe. Ian even played with Glenn Hughes, who was a singer for famous bands like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple.
In 1998, Ian Haugland recorded a cover version of the Black Sabbath song "Changes". This song was part of a special album called Ozzified, which was a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. When Ian is not busy touring or recording music, he works as a host. You can hear him on the radio channel 106.7 FM Rockklassiker in Stockholm. He also sometimes plays drums in the studio for other projects.
