The Iglesia de San Martín (Pereda) is a historic church. It is located in Pereda (Grado), a small place within the town of Grado in Asturias, Spain. This church is a great example of Romanesque architecture.
The church building was mostly built in the 12th century (the 1100s). However, old documents show that an even earlier church was created on this spot. This first church was built by Ordoño I of Asturias, a king, way back in the year 857.
In 2019, the government officially recognized the church as a very important cultural building. It was added to the Inventory of the Cultural Heritage of Asturias. This special protection covers the church itself and a large area around it. This means the church and its surroundings are now protected for future generations.
