Iglesia del Carmen

The Iglesia del Carmen de Burgos is a Catholic church in the city of Burgos, Castile and León, Spain. It's a modern building, built between 1966 and 1968. This church replaced an older, more traditional building that was taken down. You can find it where Paseo del Empecinado meets Calle del Carmen, close to the Arlanzón River and the old railway line. The church officially opened its doors on July 7, 1968.

A Modern Church in Burgos

The Iglesia del Carmen stands out because of its modern design. Unlike many old churches in Spain, which are hundreds of years old, this one was built in the 1960s. It was designed to fit the needs of the community at that time.

Building a New Place of Worship

Construction of the church began in 1966. It took about two years to complete. The builders worked hard to create a new space for people to gather and worship. When it was finished in 1968, it became an important part of the Burgos community.

Location and Surroundings

The church is located in a busy part of Burgos. It's near the Arlanzón River, which flows through the city. The area around the church has changed a lot over the years, but the church remains a landmark. Its location makes it easy for people to visit.
