Ignacio Miguel González-Llubera (born in 1893, died in 1962) was a Spanish expert in literature. He was especially known for studying Judaeo-Spanish literature. This means he looked at old Spanish writings, particularly those created by Jewish communities.
González-Llubera was born in Barcelona, Spain. He went to school at the Colegio del Sagrado Corazón. For his first university degree, he studied at the University of Barcelona. Later, he earned his highest university degree, a doctorate, from the University of Madrid. His special field was Semitic studies, which involves languages like Hebrew and Arabic.
After his studies in Madrid, he also learned in Paris, London, and Cambridge.
A University Career
In 1920, Ignacio González-Llubera became the first teacher of Spanish at Queen's University Belfast in Northern Ireland. He was a very important person there. Just six years later, in 1926, he became the first Professor of Spanish at the same university. A professor is a top university teacher. He held this important job until he retired in 1960.
