Description: A scene from Ada, Michigan. Ada Township is a civil township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township population was 9,882. The unincorporated community of Ada is located within the township on M-21 twelve miles east of Grand Rapids. Ada is the corporate home of Alticor and its subsidiary companies Quixtar and Amway. This image is of the Ada Covered Bridge across the Thornapple River just S of where it enters the Grand River just S of M-21. The bridge is on the List of Registered Historic Places in Kent County. Specifically, this image is of the bridge underside, from the downstream side. The truss members can be seen protruding below the sheathing.
