Manuel María Arias Domínguez (born 26 April 1956), known as Imanol Arias, is a famous Spanish actor. He is well-known for playing Antonio Alcántara in the TV series Cuéntame cómo pasó from 2001 to 2023. Besides his work in Spanish films and TV shows, Imanol Arias has also acted in movies made in Argentina.

Life and Acting Career
Early Life and First Roles
Imanol Arias was born in Riaño, a town in province of León, Spain, on April 26, 1956. When he was young, his family moved to Ermua, in Biscay, where he grew up.
He started his acting journey with a traveling theater group. They performed in the Basque Country in northern Spain. Imanol Arias first appeared on television in 1976. His first big movie role was in a film called La Corea.
Major Film and TV Work
In 1987, Imanol Arias won an award at the San Sebastian Film Festival. He received it for his role as Eleuterio Sánchez in the movie El Lute: Run for Your Life. Since 1976, he has acted in about seventy different films and TV shows.
In 1996, he directed his first movie, Un asunto privado. Before that, he had directed a television show in 1989.
From 2001 to 2023, he played a main character, Antonio Alcántara, in the popular TV series Cuéntame cómo pasó. This show was on Televisión Española during prime time. It followed a Spanish middle-class family through important times in Spain's history. These times included the rule of Francisco Franco, the move to democracy, and modern democracy.
In 2013, Imanol Arias lent his voice to the Spanish version of the video game Battlefield 4. He voiced the character Captain Roland Garrison. In 2014, he received the Nacho Martinez Award at the Gijón International Film Festival.
Imanol Arias is also an Ambassador for UNICEF, an organization that helps children around the world.
