Imogene Jessie Goodshot Arquero has a very special family history. She is the great-great-granddaughter of Crazy Horse. He was a famous Oglala Lakota war chief who lived from about 1840 to 1877. Imogene is married to Dominic Arquero, who is a painter from the Cochiti Pueblo tribe.
Her Unique Art Style
Imogene Arquero is best known for her beautiful beadwork. She mixes old, traditional techniques with modern items. For example, she uses beads to decorate things like tennis shoes and baseball caps!
She started her art journey using classic Northern Plains beadwork styles. But soon, she began to try new and exciting ways to use her skills.
