The Imperial City of Hue was a grand palace where the Nguyen emperors of Vietnam lived and ruled for many years. However, after Vietnam's last emperor, Bao Dai, left power, the entire Imperial City was opened for everyone to visit. Later, it became a battleground during the Battle of Hue. Even today, if you visit, you can still see signs of that battle, as many buildings have bullet holes.
