Imperial Fields is a football stadium located in Mitcham, London. It is the home ground for the Tooting & Mitcham United team. This stadium also used to be the home for Chelsea Ladies and Kingstonian. It first opened in 2002 and can hold up to 3,500 people, with 612 seats.
Football for Men's Teams
Tooting & Mitcham United F.C. moved to Imperial Fields in 2002. Before that, they played at Sandy Lane in Mitcham, which had an older, wooden stadium.
During the 2017–18 football season, another team called Dulwich Hamlet also played their games at Imperial Fields. They shared the stadium because of problems with their own home ground, Champion Hill.
The biggest crowd ever at Imperial Fields was 3,321 people. This happened on May 7, 2018, when Dulwich Hamlet won a big play-off game against Hendon. For Tooting & Mitcham, their largest crowd at the stadium was 2,637 fans. This was for a 1–1 draw against AFC Wimbledon on April 16, 2005.
Kingstonian also played at Imperial Fields. They moved there before the 2022–23 season and played until 2024.
Football for Women's Teams
Imperial Fields was the home stadium for Chelsea Ladies during the first 2011 season of the FA Women's Super League. The stadium hosted the very first match of this league on April 13, 2011. In that game, Chelsea played against Arsenal Ladies. Gilly Flaherty scored the winning goal for Arsenal, making the final score 1–0. About 2,510 people watched this historic match.
AFC Wimbledon Women started using Imperial Fields as their home ground for the 2025-26 season.
