The Inawongga were an Aboriginal Australian group. They lived in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Where They Lived

Experts believe the Inawongga lived on about 9,300 square kilometers (3,600 square miles) of land. This area was around the Hardey River. It stretched south to a place called Rocklea.

Their land also went along the upper part of the Ashburton River. This was from Turee Creek to the Angelo River. It also included the area north of Mount Vernon Station.

Neighboring Groups

The Inawongga shared their borders with several other Aboriginal groups. To their northwest were the Kurrama people. The Panyjima lived to their north-northeast.

The Mandara were directly to their east. To the southeast lived the Ngarlawongga people. The Ninanu were directly south, and the Tjururo lived to their west.
