Incredible Games was a super fun TV game show made just for kids! It first aired in the United Kingdom. You could watch it on BBC2 in 1994, and then on BBC1 in 1995. The show featured exciting games played by contestants who were usually between 10 and 13 years old.
The whole show was set inside a make-believe skyscraper, which looked like a tall tower block in London. A really cool part of the show was the talking lift! In the first series, the voice of the lift was provided by David Walliams, who later became famous for Little Britain. For the second series, the lift got a name, Sam, and was voiced by Gary Parker.

How the Game Worked
The main goal of Incredible Games was for contestants to complete different challenges. Each game was set on a different "floor" of the skyscraper. As players won games, they would move higher and higher up the tower.
In the first series, the final challenge was a game called "Alphabet Soup." If you made it to the end, you were a winner! In the second series, reaching the very top, called the "penthouse," meant you could win awesome prizes.
What Happens if You Lose?
Things got interesting in the second series if a player lost a game. They would be sent down to the "basement" of the tower, which was a laundry room! The other players then had to go back down in the lift to rescue them.
Entering the Games
The way contestants entered the games changed between the two series:
- In the first series, the lift doors would open directly into the game room.
- In the second series, the lift opened into a hallway. This hallway had many doors, and a light above one door would show which room had the next game.
Sometimes, in the second series, the lift doors would open to a dark hallway. A character called the "dark knight" would slowly walk towards the lift. Contestants had to quickly shut the lift doors to avoid him!
Popular Games You Might See
Two of the most famous games on Incredible Games were "Alphabet Soup" and "The Dark Knight."
Alphabet Soup Challenge
Imagine a giant swimming pool that looked like a huge bowl of soup! In "Alphabet Soup," contestants had to fish out giant letters from this "soup." Their goal was to use these letters to spell out words on a big "fridge." It was a race against time and a test of their spelling skills!
Facing the Dark Knight
"The Dark Knight" game was like a giant chess board. Contestants had to move from one square to another. They could only move one space at a time. The rule was: every time they moved forward, they had to follow it with a sideways step. The challenge was that the "dark knight" was trying to stop them! But there was a trick: the knight could only see the player's last move, which would light up on the board. This meant players had to be smart about their moves to avoid being caught.
