India Scandrick is an American actress who has performed on Broadway and in television shows and movies. She is known for her roles in popular musicals and TV series.
India was one of the two young actresses chosen to play young Nala in the famous Broadway musical The Lion King. This was a big start to her acting career.
Early Career and Notable Roles
India Scandrick has appeared in several TV shows. These include Tyler Perry's House of Payne, Disney 365, and Fox TV's Sleepy Hollow. She also acted in the movie The Greening of Whitney Brown.
On stage, besides The Lion King, she performed in other musicals like “A Christmas Carol” and “The Wiz.”
Breaking Barriers in Theatre
India Scandrick made history by becoming the first African-American girl to play the lead role of Little Orphan Annie in the musical Annie. This was a very important moment in her career. She also had a supporting role in the TV movie Life Is Not a Fairy Tale.
In addition to acting, India has also explored music. She recorded her first song, "Wrong Move," which was produced by Lil' Ronnie.
