Inger Berggren (born February 23, 1934 – died July 19, 2019) was a talented Swedish singer. She was best known for her hit songs "Sol och vår" and "Elisabeth serenad," both released in 1962.
Inger Berggren was born in Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. She started her singing career early, performing with different orchestras. Some of the famous bandleaders she worked with included Thore Swanerud, Thore Ehrling, Simon Brehm, and Göte Wilhelmsson.
Representing Sweden at Eurovision
In 1962, Inger Berggren had the honor of representing Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest. This big music competition was held in Luxembourg that year. She sang the song "Sol och vår" (which means "Sun and Spring"). Her performance was well-received, and she finished in seventh place.
Family Life
Inger Berggren was also a mother. Her daughter, Gunilla Röör, grew up to become a well-known actress. Inger Berggren passed away on July 19, 2019, at the age of 85.
