Reaction inhibitor facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts
(Redirected from Inhibitor)

An inhibitor is a substance that slows down chemical reactions without being involved in the actual reaction. It does the opposite of a catalyst, which speeds up reactions without undergoing a permanent change in itself. An example is snake venom, which is deadly for humans because it can slow down their internal chemical reactions.
