Innawonga is a small Aboriginal community located in Western Australia. It is about 40 kilometers (25 miles) southeast of a town called Tom Price. This community is part of the Pilbara region, which is a large area in the northern part of the state. It also falls within the Shire of Ashburton, which is a local government area.
Understanding Native Title
Native title is a special legal right that recognizes the traditional ownership of land by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. These rights come from their long-standing laws and customs. It means that their connection to the land is officially recognized.
