What is Inspector Gadget's Field Trip About?
This show was an educational program for kids. It was like a travel show where Inspector Gadget would take viewers on trips. He showed them many famous places around the world.
Gadget would use real-life video clips to teach about history and facts. The show's theme song was a bit like the one from the Gadget Boy series. In fact, Gadget Boy even appeared in one episode!
Only Inspector Gadget himself was a main character in this show. Other characters from the original series, like Penny, Brain, Chief Quimby, Capeman, Dr. Claw, M.A.D. Cat, and the M.A.D. Agents, did not appear.
Where and When Did It Air?
Inspector Gadget's Field Trip had two seasons with a total of 22 episodes. The show finished airing new episodes in 1998. However, it continued to be shown as reruns on The History Channel until 2000.
In 2001, the show started airing again in syndication. This means it was shown on different TV channels across the country. It helped these channels meet their educational programming rules. From 2004 to 2006, it was part of a special block of shows called the DIC Kids Network.
The famous comedian Don Adams returned to voice Inspector Gadget for this show. This was his last time voicing the character. He was also voicing Gadget Boy at the same time.
A Spanish version of the show, called Los Viajes de Inspector Gadget, aired on Univision's Planeta U block. You could watch it on Saturday mornings from 2008 to 2010.
You can also stream the show online on Paramount+.
