International Indian School Dammam (IISD) is a large school in Saudi Arabia. It teaches students from kindergarten to 12th grade. The school uses English as its main language.

IISD is one of the biggest schools in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It has many students, over 15,000 of them! Most students come from cities like Ad-Dammam, Al-Khobar, and Al Qatif. The school is part of a group of 10 International Indian Schools.

School History

The International Indian School Dammam started on October 10, 1982. It began with 250 students and 15 teachers. The school was first set up in a few portable buildings. The Prime Minister of India at that time, Indira Gandhi, officially opened the school.

About the School

In 2006, the school grew and was split into two separate buildings. There is one campus for boys and another for girls. Together, these campuses cover about 9.8 acres of land.

For the 2023-2024 school year, IISD had a lot of students. There were 16,750 students in total. The school also had over 750 teachers. Plus, there were 38 staff members who help with administration. About 75 people work as janitors, keeping the school clean.

The school uses 70 buses to help students get to and from school. These buses are rented from a private company. IISD follows the rules of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This board sets the curriculum for many schools in India. Students can choose to study different subjects. These include Arts, Science, and Commerce.

How the School is Managed

The Ambassador of India is like the main supporter of IISD. They are called the Patron of the school. A special group called the Managing Committee helps run the school. This committee is chosen by the Ambassador.

The Managing Committee creates the main rules and plans for the school. However, the Principal and the teachers handle the daily activities. They make sure everything runs smoothly for the students.
