Ippei Saga was born in Sapporo, Japan, on May 20, 1980. He loved playing football from a young age. After finishing high school, he began his journey as a professional player.
Starting Strong: Consadole Sapporo
In 1999, Saga joined Consadole Sapporo. This team played in the J2 League, which is Japan's second-highest football division. The team was based in his hometown of Sapporo. He played a few games during his time there in 1999 and 2000.
New Team, More Games: Montedio Yamagata
In 2001, Ippei Saga moved to another J2 League team. This team was called Montedio Yamagata. He played more often here, often coming into games as a substitute midfielder. However, in 2002, he played less frequently for the team.
Final Whistle: Okinawa Kariyushi FC and Retirement
Saga then joined Okinawa Kariyushi FC in 2003. This team was part of the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are lower-level football leagues in Japan. He played there until the end of the 2004 season. After that, he retired from playing professional football.
