Iptar-Sin was an ancient Assyrian king. He was the 51st ruler listed in the Assyrian King List. He reigned for 12 years, around the 17th century BC.

Who Was Iptar-Sin?

Iptar-Sin was part of a series of kings who ruled Assur, an important city in ancient Mesopotamia. The Assyrian King List helps us understand the order of these rulers. It says that Iptar-Sin was the son of Sharma-Adad I, who was also a king.

Sometimes, ancient records can be a bit confusing. For example, Iptar-Sin's name is missing from some parts of the Assyrian King List. This shows how historians piece together information from different old texts.

His Time as King
