Her Early Life and Education
Irena Pfeiffer was born in 1912 and lived until 1996. She started her musical journey by attending the State Teachers' College in Kraków. She also studied at the Władysław Żeleński Music School.
Later, she passed a special state exam in music and singing. This exam took place at the Katowice Conservatory. From 1946 to 1952, Irena continued her advanced studies. She learned how to compose music from Artur Malawski. She also learned how to conduct orchestras from Walerian Bierdiajew. These studies happened at the Higher Music School in Kraków.
Her Musical Career
Irena Pfeiffer began her career as a music teacher in 1938. She taught in high schools, sharing her love for music with students. During this time, she also became a conductor. She led both female and male choirs, guiding them to create beautiful music together.
Irena's talent took her beyond Poland. She toured with her choirs in Yugoslavia and Hungary. Her hard work and skill were recognized with many prizes and awards in Poland. In 1978, two of her music works received very good reviews. These reviews were published in a magazine called "Music in Education."
