Irene Luxbacher was born on December 10, 1970, in Toronto, Ontario. She is a talented Canadian artist, author, and illustrator of children's books. She creates wonderful stories and draws beautiful pictures that kids love.

Irene studied Art History at Queen's University. After that, she focused on drawing and painting at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. She also taught art workshops in schools and at The Avenue Road Arts School. Her "Jumbo Books" and "Starting Art Series" are very popular with teachers, librarians, and parents, especially those who teach their kids at home.

In 2009, Irene was a finalist for the 2009 Governor General's Awards. This was for her amazing illustrations in The Imaginary Garden. This book was published by Kids Can Press and written by Andrew Larsen.

Irene Luxbacher lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
