Isaac's Journey
Life and Work
Isaac Caldiero works as a carpenter. He also spends a lot of his time rock climbing and training for ninja competitions.
Rock Climbing Skills
Isaac started rock climbing when he was 15 years old. He is especially good at a type of climbing called "highball bouldering." This is where climbers tackle very tall rocks without ropes, relying on their strength and balance. He was one of the first people to climb a very difficult route called "The Present" in Utah without ropes.
Ninja Warrior Adventures
Isaac Caldiero competed on American Ninja Warrior several times. Let's look at his journey:
Season 5: First Try
Isaac first appeared on American Ninja Warrior in season five. He made it all the way to the National Finals in Las Vegas. He almost completed the first stage, but he slipped on an obstacle called the "Jumping Spider." He later joked it was a "wardrobe malfunction"!
Season 6: Getting Stronger
In season six, Isaac returned and did even better. He again reached the National Finals. This time, he successfully finished Stage 1 of the course. However, his season ended when he failed on Stage 2's "Double Salmon Ladder."
Season 7: Making History
Isaac came back for season seven. This was his most famous season! He advanced to the National Finals once more. Isaac became the very first person to complete Stage 3 of the course. Another strong competitor, Geoff Britten, also finished Stage 3.
Both Isaac and Geoff moved on to Stage 4, which is a super high rope climb. Geoff went first and completed the climb. Then, Isaac went second and also finished the climb, but he did it in a faster time than Geoff! Because Isaac was faster, he was officially declared the winner and the first "American Ninja Warrior." He also won the big $1,000,000 prize.
Later Seasons
Isaac took a break from competing in season eight. He later returned for season ten. He did well in the qualifying round, but he fell early in the city finals. This meant he didn't make it back to the National Finals that year.
