Who is Isaac Shooyook?
Isaac Shooyook was born in 1939 near Arctic Bay. This area was part of the Northwest Territories back then. Today, it is part of Nunavut. He grew up in the Arctic region of Canada.
His Time as a Leader
Mr. Shooyook was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut in 2013. He represented an area called Quttiktuq. This means he was chosen by the people of Quttiktuq to speak for them. He worked in the Legislative Assembly until 2017. In the 2017 election, he was not re-elected.
