Isaac Viciosa is a famous former runner from Spain. He was born on December 26, 1969, in Cervatos de la Cueza. Isaac was a very fast middle-distance runner.

He once held the European record for the 3000-meter race. He was the first European man to run this distance in under 7 minutes and 30 seconds! Isaac won the European Championships in 1998 for the 5000-meter race. He also came in second place in the 1500-meter race at the European Championships in 1994. Isaac won the Cross Internacional de Venta de Baños race two times in a row, in 1997 and 1998. He also won the second Cross de Atapuerca race in Spain when he was 35 years old.

Isaac Viciosa has two daughters, Maria and Angela Viciosa. Both of them are also runners, just like their dad!

  • In 1994, he won a silver medal (2nd place) in the 1500-meter race at the European Championships in Helsinki, Finland.
  • In 1998, he won a gold medal (1st place) in the 5000-meter race at the European Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
  • Also in 1998, he won a silver medal (2nd place) in the 3000-meter race at the World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa.
  • In 2002, his team won a bronze medal (3rd place) at the World Cross Country Championships in Dublin, Ireland.
