Isaia "Ice" Toeava was born on January 15, 1986. He is a former professional rugby union player from New Zealand. He was part of the New Zealand teams for the 2007 Rugby World Cup and the 2011 Rugby World Cup. His team won the World Cup in 2011!

Becoming a Rugby Star
Isaia Toeava was born in Samoa. In 1994, he moved to New Zealand to live with his grandmother. He went to De La Salle College, Mangere East. There, he played rugby with Taniela Moa on the school's top team.
Early Achievements
Isaia was a very talented young player. He played for the New Zealand Under-19 team. In 2005, the IRB named him the Under-19 Player of the Year. He also played for the Auckland Marist Under 21 team, which won a championship.
Isaia's sister, Peta Toeava, is also a famous athlete. She plays international netball for the Silver Ferns. She first played for them in 2018.
Isaia's Professional Rugby Journey
Isaia Toeava played for the famous All Blacks. He also represented New Zealand in Sevens rugby.
Joining the All Blacks
In 2005, Isaia was a surprise choice for the All Blacks team. He was only 19 years old! At that time, he had not played much professional rugby. He had only played eight games for Auckland and had not played in the top-level Super 14 competition.
Playing for Clubs
Isaia mostly played as a centre, wing, or fullback. He played for Auckland in New Zealand. In 2006, he joined the Hurricanes for the Super 14 season. Then, he moved to the Blues for the 2007 Super 14 season.
He was a key player for the Blues in 2007. He scored four tries and helped set up many more. Because of his great play, he was nominated for the Super 14 Player of the Year award.
World Cup Success
Isaia played in the last two games of the 2011 Tri-Nations tournament. He was also part of the 2011 Rugby World Cup winning team. During the World Cup, he played in pool matches against Tonga, Japan, and Canada.
Playing Overseas
In July 2012, Isaia signed a two-year contract with the Canon Eagles in Tokyo, Japan. Later, in March 2016, he joined Clermont in France. He played very well there and helped Clermont win the French Top 14 championship in 2017. He also helped them lead their Champions Cup pool. However, an arm injury kept him from playing for the rest of that season.
On June 16, 2020, Isaia signed with another French team, Toulon. He played for them during the 2020–21 season. On November 25, 2021, he signed with Bayonne, another French team, for the 2021–22 season.
