Isidoro Marín Garés studied art at the "Escuela de Bellas Artes de Granada," which means the School of Fine Arts in Granada. His main teachers there were Julián Sanz del Valle and Eduardo García Guerra.

Because he didn't have a lot of money, Isidoro worked on many different kinds of art projects. He created illustrations for books, posters, and lithographs (a type of printmaking). He also painted on various materials like wood, cloth, ceramics, and even fans!

He was also a skilled decorative painter for some of the most important families in Granada. He worked as an art restorer, which means he fixed and preserved old paintings and sculptures. For a while, he even worked as a conservator at the famous Alhambra, a beautiful historic palace and fortress in Granada.

Isidoro also shared his knowledge by teaching. He worked as a teacher at the "School of Arts and Crafts." He was also an assistant to a well-known artist named Manuel Gómez-Moreno González. One of his students was Ismael González de la Serna, who later became a famous artist himself.

Isidoro didn't show his art outside of Granada very often. He only had one exhibition away from his hometown, at the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exposition. At the same time, he had a smaller show at a place called Sala Parés.

The works of another famous painter, Mariano Fortuny, greatly influenced Isidoro's art. He also used ideas from Impressionism, which is an art style that focuses on light and color. He combined these styles with a costumbrista aesthetic, which means his art often showed scenes from everyday life and local customs. Today, he is especially remembered for his beautiful watercolor paintings.

Isidoro was an active member of the art community. He belonged to the "Centro Artístico, Literario y Científico de Granada" (Artistic, Literary, and Scientific Center of Granada). He was also part of the "Avellana Brotherhood," a group of writers and artists connected to the Generation of '98, a movement of Spanish writers. He also helped start the local society for watercolor artists.
