Isolde Brielmaier was born in 1971 in Seattle, Washington. Her parents came from Uganda and Austria. They really encouraged her to get involved in the arts.
When she was younger, Isolde studied ballet and modern dance. She even worked as a dancer for many years! Later, she went to Columbia University. There, she earned her Ph.D. (a very high degree) in Art History and Critical Studies. This means she became an expert in understanding and analyzing art.
