In 1999, Ivan Amodei started performing regularly at the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. This is a special club for magicians.

He won several big awards in 2005:

• He took first place in the International Brotherhood of Magicians Close-Up Competition.
• He also won first place at the Society of American Magicians Close-Up Competition.
• On top of that, he received the People's Choice Award, meaning audiences loved his magic!

Books and Big Shows

In 2010, Ivan Amodei wrote a book called Magic's Most Amazing Stories. This book was even nominated for "book of the year."

Later that year, he opened his own show called Made in Italy at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. On New Year's Eve 2010, he performed at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Ivan Amodei was born in a small town in Sicily, Italy. When he was two years old, his family moved to New York City. His parents and uncle opened their own hair salon there.

When Ivan was about five, he saw a guest at a family party perform some magic tricks. This moment changed everything for young Ivan. He was so amazed that he knew he wanted to learn magic.

He found a magic shop in his Brooklyn neighborhood. The kind shop owner helped him learn card and coin tricks. Ivan read many books about magic and quickly started performing his own shows for people.

Today, Ivan Amodei lives in Southern California on his ranch. He lives there with his wife and their twin son and daughter.
