Ivan Wilkerson Johnson (born April 10, 1984) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played college basketball for several teams. These included Cisco College, L.A. Southwest JC, Oregon, and Cal State San Bernardino.
As of 2025, Johnson plays in the 3-on-3 basketball league BIG3. He is a member of the team called Ghost Ballers.

Ivan Johnson's College Journey
Ivan Johnson played college basketball for four different schools. He started at two junior colleges. These were Cisco Junior College in Texas and Los Angeles Southwest College. At L.A. Southwest, he was a star player. He scored about 22.3 points and grabbed 12.2 rebounds per game. He also blocked 2.4 shots per game as a sophomore.
After junior college, he received a scholarship to the University of Oregon. He then finished his college basketball career at Cal State San Bernardino.
Professional Basketball Career
Early Career: D-League and Korea (2007–2010)
Johnson began his professional basketball journey in the NBA D-League. He played for the Anaheim Arsenal and Rio Grande Valley Vipers from 2007 to 2008. After that, he moved to the Korean Basketball League (KBL). He played for the Changwon LG Sakers and Jeonju KCC Egis between 2008 and 2010.
During a championship game in Korea, Johnson had an incident with a referee. Because of this, the KBL decided to remove him from the league. They also fined him about US$4,448.
Playing for the Atlanta Hawks (2011–2012)
On December 9, 2011, Ivan Johnson signed with the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. On April 13, 2012, the Hawks sent Johnson home. They also fined him for "conduct detrimental to the team." This means his actions were harmful to the team.
Just three days later, on April 16, 2012, Johnson had his best game. He scored a career-high 21 points against the Toronto Raptors.
After the Hawks were eliminated from the playoffs, Johnson was fined again. The NBA fined him $25,000 for an incident with a Boston Celtics fan. On September 18, 2012, Johnson signed a new one-year deal to play for the Atlanta Hawks again.
Playing in China and Other Leagues (2013–2017)
In August 2013, Johnson signed with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in China. He then briefly returned to the NBA in 2014. He signed with the Dallas Mavericks but was later released. In December 2014, he joined the Texas Legends in the NBA Development League.
In February 2015, Johnson signed with the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He helped his team win the 2015 PBA Commissioner's Cup on April 29, 2015.
Later in 2015, Johnson played for RETAbet.es GBC in Spain. He had to leave the team in October of that year.
In January 2016, Johnson returned to the Philippines. He signed with Tropang TNT (formerly Talk 'N Text) again. Before a game, he was involved in an incident with two other players. He was suspended for one game and fined 50,000 pesos.
On February 13, 2016, Johnson faced a serious penalty from the PBA. He was suspended for one season and fined 250,000 pesos. This happened after he had a disagreement with the PBA commissioner, Chito Narvasa, during a game. Johnson later apologized to Commissioner Narvasa on Twitter. The PBA accepted his apology. They reduced his ban to a one-season suspension and his fine to 150,000 pesos.
After this, Johnson played for several other teams. These included Caciques de Humacao in Puerto Rico and Sagesse in Lebanon. In 2017, he joined Tanduay Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League. This was his third time playing in the Philippines.
