Ixtlán de los Hervores, often called just Ixtlán, is a city in the Mexican state of Michoacán. It is located about 29 kilometers (18 miles) from Jiquilpan by state highway 16. The city is also about 26 kilometers (16 miles) northeast of Zamora using highway 35. Ixtlán is roughly 80 miles (129 kilometers) southeast of Guadalajara.

Amazing Geysers and Hot Springs
The city is home to three powerful geysers. These geysers shoot hot water high into the air from deep underground. The water jet can rise more than 30 meters (about 100 feet) high! The water itself is very hot, reaching temperatures of about 96 degrees Celsius (205 degrees Fahrenheit).
There are also two newer geysers in the area. One of them is located close to the local soccer field. People enjoy watching these natural fountains of hot water.
