József Kasza (Serbian Cyrillic: Јожеф Каса, romanized: Jožef Kasa, born February 6, 1945 – died February 3, 2016) was an important Serbian politician. He was also an economist and a banker. József Kasza was from the Hungarian community living in Serbia.

He was a leader of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians political party for many years, from 1995 to 2007. This party works to represent the interests of Hungarians in the Vojvodina region of Serbia.

His Political Journey

József Kasza held a very important job as the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia. He served in this role in the governments led by Prime Ministers Zoran Đinđić and Zoran Živković. The Deputy Prime Minister helps the Prime Minister run the country.

After leading the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, he became an honorary president of the party. This is a special title given to someone who has done a lot for the party. However, this title was later removed because of some disagreements about how the party should be run.

Family Life

József Kasza was born to Sándor Kasza and Erzsébet Pásztás. He was married to Ildikó Árpási. Together, they had three children: a daughter named Kinga, and two sons named Csongor and Miksa.
