James Bennett Williamson, born on December 18, 1956, is an American former professional boxer. He was a champion in the light heavyweight division. In 1985, he held the World Boxing Council (WBC) light heavyweight title.

J. B. Williamson started his professional boxing career in 1979. Before that, he had a successful amateur career, which means he boxed for fun and experience, not for money.
Winning a World Title
In 1985, J. B. Williamson won a big championship. He became the World Boxing Council (WBC) light heavyweight champion. He won this title by beating Prince Mama Mohammed in a match.
Defending and Moving Up
Sadly, Williamson lost his WBC title in his very next fight. He was defeated by Dennis Andries. Even though he didn't fight for another major title, he kept boxing. He moved up to a heavier weight class called heavyweight. He continued to fight until 1995. During this time, he faced some famous heavyweights like Henry Akinwande, Peter McNeeley, Jimmy Thunder, and even the legendary George Foreman.
