Jaber II Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah was an important leader of Kuwait. He was the eighth ruler of the Sheikhdom of Kuwait. This was the name for Kuwait before it became a modern country. He belonged to the Al-Sabah family, which still rules Kuwait today. Jaber II was the oldest son of Mubarak Al-Sabah, who was also a ruler.
Jaber II's Life and Rule
Jaber II Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah was born in 1860. He took over as ruler of Kuwait on November 28, 1915. He ruled for a short time, until his death on February 5, 1917. After him, his brother, Salim Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, became the next ruler.
What Jaber II Did as Ruler
Even though his time as ruler was short, Jaber II is remembered for some important changes. He started new plans to improve Kuwait's economy. These changes helped make the country's money system better.
Special Recognition
Jaber II also received a special honor from the British government. On November 23, 1916, he was made a Companion of the Order of the Star of India (CSI). This was a high award given for important service.
