Sir Jack Martin Cuzick (born August 11, 1948) is a very important scientist. He was born in America but now also works in Britain. He is the director of the Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine in London. He also leads the Centre for Cancer Prevention. He is a professor at Queen Mary University of London.

Early Life and Learning

Jack Cuzick was born in Hawthorne, California, in the United States. He went to El Segundo High School. In 1970, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He studied Mathematics and Physics at Harvey Mudd College. He then got his Ph.D. in mathematics in 1974. This was from Claremont Graduate School.

Helping Prevent Cancer

Sir Jack Cuzick started his career working on medical studies. In 1978, he moved to Oxford University. He is famous for his work on preventing breast cancer. He led important studies called the IBIS trials. These trials tested medicines like tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors. These medicines help stop breast cancer in women who are at high risk. For this research, his team won a special prize in 2014. It was the Translational Cancer Research Prize from Cancer Research UK.

Sir Jack Cuzick has received many important awards for his work.
