Porter Lee Floyd (born March 20, 1891 – died August 24, 1949) was a talented American athlete. He was best known by his nickname, "Jack Hannibal". People also called him "The Fighting Poor Boy". Jack was a professional boxer and a baseball player. He played as an Outfielder in the Negro leagues during the 1910s.

Jack Hannibal was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky. He grew up and later attended Shortridge High School. Jack was also the father of another famous baseball player, Leo Hannibal, who also played in the Negro leagues.
Baseball Days
Jack Hannibal started his professional baseball career in 1913. His first team was the Indianapolis ABCs. The next year, in 1914, he played for the Louisville White Sox. He continued to play baseball for several years. Later in his career, he joined the Jewell's ABCs in 1916. His final years in baseball were with the Richmond Giants, where he played in 1918 and 1919.

Besides baseball, Jack Hannibal was also a skilled boxer. He competed as a middleweight boxer. This means he fought against opponents who were similar in weight to him. His nickname, "The Fighting Poor Boy," likely came from his boxing career.
