Jackie Appiah was born in Toronto, Canada, on December 5, 1983. She is the youngest of five children in her family. Jackie is a Ghanaian Canadian because she was born in Canada. When she was 10 years old, she moved to Ghana with her mother. She is well-known by her family name, Appiah.

Jackie Appiah has had a very successful acting career. She has worked in both Ghanaian and Nigerian movies for over 20 years. Jackie started acting in the late 1990s. She appeared in many TV shows and films in Ghana.

Jackie remembers being very shy when she first started acting. Her first movie was Divine Love. She played the main character, Kate. She felt she didn't do very well. But, she managed to impress everyone on set.

Jackie Appiah was already known in Nollywood (the Nigerian film industry). This was thanks to her successful Ghanaian movies. Some of these include Beyoncé - The President Daughter and Princess Tyra. Other popular films were Passion of the Soul and The Perfect Picture.

Her well-known Nollywood films include Black Soul and Bitter Blessing. She acted alongside famous Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah. She also starred in My Last Wedding with actor Emeka Ike. In 2013, she won the Best International Actress award. This was at the Papyrus Magazine Screen Actors Awards in Abuja, Nigeria.

Jackie married Peter Agyemang in 2005. They had one son named Damien Agyemang. They later divorced after three years.
