Jacob Collard is an Australian professional football (soccer) player. He used to play as a right back, which is a defensive position on the field. He played for several clubs during his career, including Perth Glory and Oakleigh Cannons.
Early Life and Community Work
Jacob is an Indigenous Australian, meaning he belongs to the native people of Australia. He grew up in Perth, a big city in Australia. He attended South Thornlie Primary School and Lynwood Senior High School.
Jacob has also done great work helping young people in his community. He is seen as a role model, especially for those from Indigenous backgrounds.
Football Career Highlights
Jacob started his professional football journey with Perth Glory. He made his first big game appearance as a substitute in a match against Newcastle Jets in the 2015 FFA Cup in 2015. He later made his debut in the A-League, Australia's top football league, on January 9, 2020, playing against Adelaide United. In his very next A-League game, he was sent off the field in the 63rd minute.
After his time with Perth Glory, Jacob joined Olympia, a team in Tasmania, on March 5, 2016. He played for them for a short time before moving to Melbourne in April 2016. In May 2016, Jacob joined Oakleigh Cannons, a team in the National Premier Leagues Victoria.
Life Outside Football
Before becoming a professional football player for Perth Glory, Jacob worked as a plumber. In 2017, Jacob took part in a special program called a cadetship with the Western Australia Police. This program was designed for Indigenous Australians.
