Jacqueline M. Hawkins, born in 1945, is an English author and artist who creates books. She is famous for working with her husband, Colin Hawkins. Together, they have written and illustrated more than 150 children's books. They are also the parents of the well-known actress Sally Hawkins.

About Jacqui Hawkins' Life

Jacqui Hawkins was born Jacqueline M. Sinfield in Oxford, England. Her parents were Anne and John Sinfield. In 1968, she married Colin Hawkins. They had known each other since they were children because their families were friends.

Jacqui and Colin started dating when they were teenagers. Colin went to Blackpool Art School. He later worked for a newspaper called the Daily Express. After working on their own and teaching art, they decided to team up. This is how they started illustrating books together.

Jacqui and Colin have two children. Their daughter, Sally Cecilia Hawkins, was born in 1976 and is a famous actress. Their son, Finbar Hawkins, was born in 1970 and works as a producer.

Jacqui studied graphic design at Goldsmiths College. This is where she learned how to create visual designs for books and other things.

Jacqui Hawkins' Career in Books

The books created by Jacqui and Colin Hawkins are popular all over the world. They have been published in many different languages.

They made a book series called The Numberlies. These books help young children learn how to count. They also created the Foxy book series. This series tells about the fun adventures of a character named Foxy the Fox.
