Jhake Angelo Cunanan Vargas (born July 9, 1992), known to his fans as Jake Vargas, is a popular actor and musician from the Philippines. He is famous for his roles in TV shows like Reel Love Presents Tween Hearts, the long-running comedy Pepito Manaloto, and Alice Bungisngis and Her Wonder Walis.
Jake has also starred in movies, including Tween Academy: Class of 2012 and My Kontrabida Girl. For his role in the 2014 film Asintado, he won a "Rising Star" award at an international film festival and was nominated for Best Actor at the FAMAS Awards, a major awards show in the Philippines.

Acting Career
Getting Started
Jake Vargas began his acting career in 2008. He was discovered by the TV host German Moreno, who became his first manager. Jake first appeared on the variety show Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman, where he was a regular performer for six years.
In 2010, he got his first leading role in the TV series First Time, where he acted alongside Bea Binene. This role helped him become more well-known to audiences.
Becoming a Teen Star
Later in 2010, Jake's popularity grew when he joined the cast of the teen show Reel Love Presents Tween Hearts. He played the character Jacob Vergara. The show was so popular that it was made into a movie in 2011 called Tween Academy: Class of 2012.
Around the same time, Jake also took on a role that would become one of his most famous: Chito Manaloto in the hit sitcom Pepito Manaloto. He has been a part of this show since 2010, acting with famous comedians like Michael V. and Manilyn Reynes.
Throughout the early 2010s, Jake starred in many other TV shows. He appeared in the fantasy series Alice Bungisngis and Her Wonder Walis and the drama Pahiram ng Isang Ina. He also had roles in the TV shows Maynila and Magpakailanman, where he played different characters in each episode.
Taking on New Roles
As he got older, Jake started playing more serious and grown-up characters. He acted in drama series like Buena Familia (2015), Ika-5 Utos (2018), and Ang Dalawang Ikaw (2021). He also had a special guest role in the 2022 drama The Fake Life. These roles showed that he could play many different types of characters, not just teens.
Music Career
Besides acting, Jake is also a talented musician and singer. In 2010, he released his first album, which was called Ngiti (the Filipino word for "Smile"). The album included songs that were used as theme music for popular TV shows.
