James Curtis DeBarge (born August 22, 1963) is an American R&B and soul singer. He was a member of the famous singing group DeBarge. This group became well-known in the mid-1980s with popular songs like "All This Love", "Love Me in a Special Way", "Rhythm of the Night", and "Who's Holding Donna Now".

James DeBarge's Early Life
James Curtis DeBarge was the seventh child of Robert DeBarge Sr. and Etterlene Abney DeBarge. He was born and grew up in Detroit, Michigan, just like his brothers and sisters. Later, his family moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Music Career with DeBarge
James DeBarge performed with his brothers Mark and Randy, and his nephew Andrew. They toured together as the group DeBarge. They even performed at a "Flashback to the '80s" concert in Highland, California. Other groups like Atlantic Starr and The SOS Band were also there. James often sang the main parts during their performances. The group was so popular that they performed three extra songs at the concert.
James DeBarge's Family Life
James DeBarge married pop singer Janet Jackson in 1984. Their marriage ended in 1985. During their time together, they lived at the Jackson family home called Hayvenhurst.
James DeBarge has three children. His daughter Kristinia was born in 1990. His son, James Jr., was born in 1998, and his youngest daughter, Tori, was born in 2001. Kristinia DeBarge appeared on the TV show American Juniors in 2003. She later signed a music contract with Island Def Jam Records.
James DeBarge is a Christian. He performed at a gospel service in late 2007 with his brothers El and Mark.
