James Ma, born James Assarasakorn on July 3, 1993, is a popular actor and model from Thailand. He started acting in 2013. His first big role was as M.R. Ronapee Jutathep in the TV series Gentlemen of Jutathep. He works with Channel 3, a big TV company in Thailand.

James Ma's Early Life and School Days
James Ma was born in Bangkok, Thailand. His father is Thai Chinese, and his mother is from Hong Kong. He has one younger sister. James first went to NIST International School in Bangkok.
Moving to Hong Kong for School
When James was 8 years old, his family moved to Hong Kong. There, he continued his studies at Quarry Bay School. He was a very good student and even skipped two school years. Later, he attended South Island School in Hong Kong.
Returning to Thailand and Becoming an Actor
In late 2011, a talent manager named Supachai Srivijit discovered James. This led James to return to Thailand. He then studied at Harrow International School, Bangkok. He later earned two degrees from Assumption University. He got a bachelor's degree in Business English and a master's degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
His Dream of Being a Golfer
Before becoming an actor, James wanted to be a professional golfer. He won a gold medal in a golf competition in Hong Kong in 2008. He also won many other awards against students from different schools. In 2008, he tried out for a singing competition called The Star, but he did not make it to the final round.
James Ma's Acting Career
James Ma started his acting career at age 20. His first main role was in the historical drama Gentlemen of Jutathep in 2013. This TV series was made to celebrate ThaiTV3's 43rd anniversary.
The Gentlemen of Jutathep Series
The Gentlemen of Jutathep series had five parts. Each part was about one of the five Jutathep brothers. James Ma starred in the last part, Khun Chai Ronapee. Famous director Chatchai Plengpanich directed his part. James acted alongside actress Chalida Vijitvongthong in this series.
Other Projects and Concerts
In 2014, James Ma appeared in a short film called Thai Niyom: Prince Pom. He played the role of Prince Pom. That same year, he joined a special concert called "Give Me 5 Concert." He performed with other popular actors like Mario Maurer and Nadech Kugimiya. He also invited singers Tata Young and Boy Peacemaker to join him on stage.
Historical Dramas and Remakes
In 2015, James Ma returned to TV in a romance and action drama called The King's Servant. This story was set during the time of King Rama III in Siam (now Thailand). It showed how Britain started trading with Siam. James acted with actress Peranee Kongthai in this series.
Later in 2015, James took on a main role in Just a Man, Not a Magician. He starred with Kimberley Anne Woltemas. This drama was a remake of an older show from 2001. Ann Thongprasom produced the show.
Movie Debut
In late 2015, James Ma made his first movie. It was a science fiction romance film called Microlove. He starred alongside South Korean actress Hahm Eun-jung. The movie was about a rich Thai man who works for a Korean software company. His work catches the attention of the company president's daughter.
