Jamillah Ross's Comedy Career
Jamillah Ross started her journey at The Second City comedy club in Toronto. She first worked there as a server. Soon, she joined their touring company. She performed in shows like The Ice Cream Man Cometh and The Puck Stops Here.
In 2003, Jamillah returned to Toronto. She performed in a Second City show called Armaget-It-On. This show was even nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award. Later, Jamillah wrote and starred in three big shows at the main stage of The Second City.
Stage and Improv Success
In 2006, Jamillah played Sour Kangaroo in a play called Seussical. This was at the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People. The next year, she was in Show Stopping Number: The Improvised Musical. This show won a Canadian Comedy Award for best improv group. Jamillah herself was nominated twice for best female improvisor. She also performed with an improv group called The Dandies.
