Jannat facts for kids
Jannat Mahid (Arabic: جنات مهيد; born on January 6, 1986), known as Jannat, is a talented Moroccan singer and actress. She was born in Morocco but now lives and performs in Egypt. Jannat sings mostly in Egyptian Arabic and is one of the most popular young female singers in the Arab world.
Jannat started singing very early. When she was just eight years old, she entered a singing competition in Morocco called "Stars of Tomorrow" and won first prize! After that, she performed in many local singing contests. By the age of fifteen, she took part in the Dubai Nights Festival in 2000. There, she won an award for having the best singing voice in the Arab world.
Her amazing talent caught the attention of Mrs. Ratiba El-Hefny, who was the director of the Cairo Opera House. Mrs. El-Hefny invited Jannat to sing at a big concert in the Grand Theater. This was Jannat's first time performing for an Egyptian audience.
During her performance at the opera house, a music producer named Ahmed Desouki noticed her incredible voice. He wanted to work with her, but Jannat was only fifteen and still in school in Morocco. This made it hard to sign a contract right away. After she finished her studies and earned a university degree in business, Jannat focused completely on her singing career. She released her first song, "Efhamny Habiby", in 2004, and also made a music video for it.
In 2005, Jannat signed a contract with producer Ahmed Desouki's company, Good News 4 Music. In 2006, she released her first studio album, Elli Beny W Benak. That same year, she also released a music video for her song "Aktar Min Sana". Jannat's second album, Hob Emtelak, came out in 2009. Later, in 2013, Rotana Records released her third album, Hob Gamed. Her fourth album, Be Nafs El Kalam, was released in 2016. Jannat has also sung for many Egyptian TV shows, like Zohra w Azwagha El Khamsa.
Jannat became very popular with her album Elli Beny W Benak, which won many awards. Her second album, Hob Emtelak, sold incredibly well. It helped her win the Middle East Music Award and the Arab Radio and Television Network Award. More recently, in 2020, Jannat released her fifth album, Ana Fe Entezarak.
