Playing Career Highlights
Jannes Horn started his football journey in youth teams. He played for VfL Wolfsburg during his younger years. He worked hard and was promoted to their main team for the 2016–17 season.
Joining 1. FC Köln
In June 2017, Jannes made a big move. He joined 1. FC Köln, another well-known German club. This team had recently earned a spot in the UEFA Europa League, which is a major European football competition.
Loan to Hannover 96
On August 15, 2019, Jannes went on loan to Hannover 96. This meant he played for them for the 2019–20 season. During this time, he tested positive for COVID-19. The club confirmed his case was separate from any other player's.
Moving to VfL Bochum and 1. FC Nürnberg
After his loan, Jannes signed a two-year deal with VfL Bochum on July 25, 2022. However, on January 7, 2023, he moved again. He went on loan to 1. FC Nürnberg, a team in the 2. Bundesliga, which is Germany's second-highest football league.
Permanent Move and Loan to St. Louis City
Jannes Horn enjoyed his time at 1. FC Nürnberg. So much so that on June 29, 2023, he signed a permanent contract with the club. More recently, on August 2, 2024, Jannes moved to St. Louis City in the United States. He joined them on a loan deal that lasts until June 30, 2025, with an option for the club to buy him permanently.
