Early Life and High School Football
Jarek Broussard grew up in Dallas, Texas. He went to Bishop Lynch High School. During his senior year, he was a star player. He ran for 745 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. He also caught 22 passes for 360 yards and three touchdowns.
Many colleges wanted Jarek to play for them. He was considered a three-star recruit. He decided to play college football at the University of Colorado.
College Football Career

Overcoming Injuries
When Jarek was a freshman, he had a knee injury. This meant he had to "redshirt." Redshirting means a player practices with the team but does not play in games. This allows them to gain experience without using a year of their college eligibility. He also missed the next season because of injuries.
Success at Colorado
In his third year, Jarek became a key player. He ran for 895 yards and scored five touchdowns. He was named to the first-team All-Pac-12 Conference. This means he was one of the best players in his conference. He was also named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2020.
Jarek had an amazing game on December 5, 2020. He ran for 301 yards against Arizona. This helped his team win the game 24–13. He was named the conference Offensive Player of the Week twice that season.
In his fourth year, Jarek continued to play well. He ran for 661 yards and scored two touchdowns. After this season, he decided to transfer to another college.
