Jarryd Blair (born 14 April 1990) is a former professional Australian rules footballer. He played for the famous Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Jarryd was a small but speedy player. He was known for playing as a wingman or half-forward.

Jarryd Blair's Football Journey

Jarryd Blair made his AFL debut in 2010. He played his first game in Round 14 against West Coast. This exciting match took place at Etihad Stadium. Jarryd quickly showed his talent on the field.

Early Days and Big Debut

Jarryd was very impressive in his first game. He got 16 disposals, which means he touched the ball 16 times. He also took 2 marks and made 5 tackles. Collingwood won that game by a huge 83 points!

The very next week, Jarryd kept playing well. He kicked 2 goals against Port Adelaide. In Round 20, he was one of the best players. Collingwood won by 98 points against Essendon. Jarryd had 27 disposals and kicked 2 goals. He even got one vote in the prestigious Brownlow Medal.

Premiership Glory

In 2010, Jarryd Blair played in the exciting 2010 AFL Grand Final. This game ended in a draw, which is very rare. A week later, Collingwood played in a replay. Jarryd was part of the team that won the Premiership!

He was only 20 years old at the time. This made him the second-youngest player in Collingwood's 2010 Premiership team. Only 19-year-old Steele Sidebottom was younger.

Kicking Goals

Jarryd continued to shine in the 2011 season. In Round 3, he kicked a career-high 5 goals. This amazing effort was against the Carlton. Later that year, in Round 20, he kicked four goals against Port Adelaide.

Family Ties

Football talent runs in Jarryd's family. His uncle is John Blair. John was a successful coach and also played in the VFL. Jarryd's grandfather, John O'Mahony, also played football. He played for Hawthorn from 1951 to 1960.

Life After Collingwood

Jarryd Blair played for Collingwood until 2018. On October 30, 2018, Collingwood decided not to keep him on their team. This is called being "delisted."

In 2019, Jarryd continued his football career. He started playing for Port Melbourne in the VFL (Victorian Football League).
