Gerald Eaton, born on November 22, 1971, is a talented musician and producer. He is from Jamaica and Canada. Many people know him by his stage name, Jarvis Church. He is famous for his work in R&B and pop music.

Music Career

Gerald Eaton is the lead singer for an R&B-pop group called The Philosopher Kings. This group was very popular in the 1990s. After the group took a break for ten years, Gerald started his own solo music career.

Solo Music

In 2002, he released his first solo album, Shake It Off. He used the stage name Jarvis Church for this album. This name came from two streets in Toronto, Ontario. The Philosopher Kings later got back together. They released a new album in February 2006. Gerald released his second solo album, The Long Way Home, in 2008.

He continued his solo work with tribute albums. In 2012, he released The Soul Station Vol 1: The Songs of Sam Cooke, A Tribute. This album honored the music of soul singer Sam Cooke. In 2015, he released The Soul Station Vol 2: The Songs of Curtis Mayfield, A Tribute. This album paid tribute to another great soul singer, Curtis Mayfield.

Music Production

Gerald Eaton is also a successful music producer. In 1999, he discovered the singer Nelly Furtado at a music event in Toronto. In 2001, he helped produce Nelly Furtado's first album, Whoa, Nelly!. He worked with his bandmate from The Philosopher Kings, Brian West.

Their production team is known as Track and Field. In 2001, they were nominated for a Grammy award for producer of the year. Track and Field also produced albums for other artists. They worked on Esthero's album Wikked Lil' Grrrls. They also produced Canadian rapper K'naan's albums, The Dusty Foot Philosopher and Troubadour. They produced the title song for Stacie Orrico's 2006 album, Beautiful Awakening. Gerald Eaton also sang on Nelly Furtado's song "Saturdays" from her album Folklore.

Television Work

In 2007, Gerald Eaton created music for a television series. He also appeared on the show, which was called Da Kink in My Hair.
